Sauce Gardner is the latest New York Jets player to fuel rumors about a potential exit from the AFC East. After the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Denver Broncos in dramatic fashion on Saturday 30-24 in overtime, Gardner was one of the people who commented on Tee Higgins' performance, sending a strong message on social media about the Cincinnati wide receiver's future.

"PAY THE MAN," he commented underneath a post.

When somebody told him to recruit Higgins to the Jets, Gardner shot down that idea.

"I will NOT be telling him that," he replied.

This interaction sparked plenty of comments on social media, with fans speculating that Sauce Gardner might be out of MetLife Stadium.

"He wants to leave himself 😂," one fan said.
"It’s never been more over," another fan said.
"The vibes are HORRIBLE in Florham Park. @BoyGreen25, Sauce is no longer 'Recruiter in Chief,'" another fan wrote.

Others said that he should go somewhere else if he doesn't want to be with the Jets anymore.

"He doesn’t want to be on the team anymore and he plays like it. Flip him for some picks," one fan said.
"Can we trade sauce to Jacksonville," another fan said.

The young cornerback and the rest of the defense were dominated by the Buffalo Bills in Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season. The Bills racked up 251 passing yards on the way to a 40-14 win, confirming that they are the best team in the division and one of the best in the conference.

The Jets regressed from last season when they won seven games with Zac Wilson, Trevor Siemian and Tim Boyle under center. It's easy to see where these comments might be coming from, although Gardner cleared up the situation.

Just when people thought Sauce Gardner was done with the Jets, the 24-year-old cornerback shared an Instagram story in which he discussed the nature of his comments.

"We got G & Tae (Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams) already so it's no chance of it happening so that's why I said 'I will NOT tell him that.' There yall go," Gardner wrote.

That comment might not be true after the season ends since Garrett Wilson has been mentioned as a wantaway for the Jets. The team has endured a terrible season, and nobody knows if there's a fix for its struggles.
