Herschel Walker and former President Barack Obama have been involved in a war of words as elections loom next month. The former NFL running back is the Republican candidate for the United States Senate in Georgia. On FOX News, Walker addressed comments made by Obama regarding his qualifications to run for Senate. Here's what he said:

“He forgot to tell people I created one of the largest minority-owned food service companies in the United States of America, so I do sign the front of a check, which he’s probably never done except when he was in the White House."

He added:

“I created businesses, I sit on a public traded board. So those are things I’ve done outside of football. Put my resume against his resume – I put it up any time of the day and I think I’ve done well."

At a rally for incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock in Georgia, the former President made it clear that the Republican candidate isn't qualified for the Senate:

“Some of you may not remember, but Herschel Walker was a heck of a football player. But here’s the question: Does that make him the best person to represent you in the U.S. Senate? Does that make him equipped to weigh in on the critical decisions about our economy and our foreign policy and our future?”

Obama went after the former Dallas Cowboys star's celebrity as well. The Republican candidate responded to those comments as well. Walker said:

"He said I'm a celebrity. He got that one wrong, didn't he? I'm not a celebrity. I'm a warrior for God. He got something else wrong, too. Remember two years ago he told us to vote for Joe Biden, didn't he? He got that one wrong, did he not? He's lost twice to Georgia already, hasn't he? So I think he probably needs to sit this one out."

Barack Obama's Comments on Herschel Walker and the Impact on the Georgia Senate Race

The former president's rally in Georgia signifies how close the Senate race is between Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock. In a recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution/UGA poll, the race is displayed to be extremely tight with both candidates at 45 percent.

For Walker, he's trying to help Republicans gain control of the Senate as Democrats seek to maintain control. We'll see if Herschel Walker can become Georgia's next United States Senator.
