Former NFL running back Herschel Walker and his bid for the Georgia Senate seat continues. The Senate race between Walker and incumbent Raphael Warnock came down to under 40,000 votes, with the latter in the lead. In this case, Georgia law requires a run-off election.
The two are continuing to campaign and try and convince undecided voters who may have voted for a third party to vote for them this time around. Walker was campaigning earlier this week and spoke at an event where he discussed the 'green agenda' and his stance on saving the environment.
He said that the United States wasn't ready for a plan like that. The former NFL professional suggested that everyone keep their "gas-guzzling cars," claiming that those actually have better emissions than the more fuel-efficient vehicles.
"If we was ready for the green agenda, I'd raise my hand right now. But we're not ready right now. What we need to do is keep having those gas-guzzling cars, 'cause we got the good emissions under those cars."

Social media went abuzz as many were quick to note that this was just the latest bizarre statement that the former NFL running back has made. Others questioned why he is even still a contender in this Senate race when he makes these types of comments.
What is Herschel Walker's net worth?
Before his run for the United States Senate seat from Georgia, Herschel Walker made a career as a running back in the National Football League.
After playing in the USFL, he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 1985 NFL Draft. His contract was for five years and was worth $5 million. He also received a $1.4 million signing bonus at the time.
In his 16 years playing in the National Football League, Walker earned approximately $15 million. This figure seems extremely low compared to today's record-breaking NFL contracts that are being signed.
Before running for Senate, the former NFL running back had listed that his net worth is an estimated $30 million. After his NFL career, he apparently made a career of speaking at various events and engagements where he was paid quite well for his time.
There aren't any other known business ventures that the former running back has invested in or worked for since his NFL career.
If Herschel Walker does win the US Senate seat from Georgia, he would be paid approximately $174,000 per year.
