Dan Snyder may have gotten through some abysmal management of the Washington Commanders over the years, but Stephen A. Smith believes his time is now coming to a close.

Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, became the first person to publicly open the possibility of removing Dan Snyder from his stewardship of the Washington NFL franchise.

It prompted Stephen A Smith to observe that when someone like Jim Irsay, who reportedly has a lot of skeletons in his closet, comes out against someone, it is never a good sign.

This was of particular interest because reports stated that Snyder was trying to dig up dirt on other owners and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell so that they could not force through any vote against him.

If the owners had gotten so comfortable that they were willing to send Jim Irsay, out of everyone, to speak against Dan Synder, Stephen A. Smith believes Snyder is as good as gone.

Stephen A. Smith said during the discussion:

"Clearly, Dan Snyder needs to be gone. Clearly, his days are very very numbered... this man is no longer a part of our clique."
"This man Daniel Snyder, because of his years of evidently running his mouth behind the scenes and exposing what he truly truly feels about his contemporaries, has turned his contemporaries against him and they happen to be the people who literally oversee the league. His days are numbered. He has got to go."

Stephen A. Smith and team recount Dan Snyder's many misdeeds

As the owner of the Washington franchise, Dan Snyder has been part of a litany of controversies.

The first began with their former name "Redskins" that literally used a pejorative to refer to indigenous Americans. He resisted the name change for a while before finally yielding to commercial pressure.

The main controversy stems from the workplace culture that arose out of cheerleader allegations of being recorded topless without their permission. It resulted in unearthing a toxic workplace where bullying and intimidation were commonplace.

This caused Dan Snyder to relinquish the day-to-day operations of the franchise and hand it over to his wife.

Further emails from Jon Gruden revealed a workplace allegedly rife with sexism, racism and homophobia.

It then emerged that Snyder may have underreported ticket sales to reduce his team's contribution to the NFL Visiting Team fund.

He was accused by the US House of Representatives Oversight Committee of fraudulent activities and artificial price gouging of fans and subsequently reported to the Federal Trade Commission.

And finally, as Stephen A. Smith alluded to, he seems to be going after the billionaire clique with dirt of his own as they evaluate whether to force him out.

Turns out, the clique may already be calling Dan Snyder's bluff.
