Hollywood star Anne Hathaway's admission regarding favorite player and NFL team could take you by surprise 

Leading actress Anne Hathaway revealed her favorite NFL team back in 2015 on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The now 40-year-old was a guest on the show and appeared when the Giants had lost the opening two games of the 2015 season.

Fallon was clearly giddy to poke the bear, and Hathaway, who revealed she was a New York Giants fan, recalled the team going through a similar rough start to the season in 2007. What happened that year?

The Giants would go on to win the Super Bowl. Hathaway was quite content with her team's start back in 2015. She had said:

"You know what this season reminds me of? This season reminds me of the 2007 season when we started 0-2 and wound up with a ring. It is on you Eli [Manning], on you! Take it home buddy."

Unfortunately, for Hathaway, her confidence in her team did not pass onto the Giants as they would finish the season with a 6-10 record. They would also finish third in the NFC East race, behind the Philadelphia Eagles (2nd) and the division winners in Washington.

While the last few seasons have brought nothing but pain for Hathaway and her beloved Giants, season 2022 could bear fruit.

Anne Hathaway and other Giants fans can be optimistic about this season

The New York Giants have been one of the surprises of the 2022 season. After nine games, the Giants have an impressive 7-2 record and sit second in the NFC East behind the 8-1 Eagles.

New York's only losses have come against the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks. Brian Daboll has done wonders for the G Men this season and in the next four games, New York will face all three other NFC East rivals. To say that it could shape their season is an understatement.

Given the state of the NFC at the time of writing, the Giants are almost guaranteed a playoff spot already due to their great record.

While there are still plenty of games left and as we saw last Sunday, anything can happen, the Giants are in a good spot to punch their ticket into the postseason. Once there, anything can happen, much like the 2007 season, and we know how that ended.

Anne Hathaway will be hoping that her Giants get to repeat their efforts and hoist the Lombardi trophy at this season's end, something that seemed impossible just months ago.
