How did Brock Purdy perform in 2022?

The 2022 NFL season started with Purdy being the third-string QB for the San Francisco 49ers. He was behind Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo on the QB depth chart, and it didn't look like he would take any offensive snaps for the year.

However, all that changed in a couple of weeks, as the Iowa State University alum got a once-in-a-lifetime chance. First, Lance suffered a brutal ankle injury in week two of the regular season and was ruled out for the rest of the season. Then, Lance's replacement, Jimmy Garoppolo, suffered a foot injury in week 13, ending his regular season, giving Brock Purdy a chance to do his own thing.

Purdy duly obliged, putting up a stellar rookie stat line of 1,374 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and a paltry four interceptions in nine games. He also finished third place in the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award voting, despite playing just one-half of the games in his debut season with the 49ers.
