His three boys are carrying on their father's legacy by following his path. As one might expect, all three of Sanders' boys have a lot of talent. They don't appear likely to overtake their father's iconic status anytime soon, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
Deion Sanders' legendary playing career
Deion Sanders participated in three varsity sports while attending Florida State. Depending on the season, he might be on the baseball pitch, the track, or the football field. But regardless of the arena, one thing was clear: he had the makings of a major star.
Sanders made the decision to play professional baseball and football officially after graduating because he didn't want to pick one over the other. Despite having a strong career on the diamond, he had his greatest achievements on the gridiron.
He played in the NFL for a total of 14 years, most of which were spent with the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons. In his 188 overall outings, he intercepted 53 passes, returning nine of them for touchdowns. He was a formidable defensive back and explosive return man thanks to his lightning speed. Additionally, he amassed 5,722 yards and nine touchdowns while returning kicks and punts.
The "Prime Time" player won several titles and honors during his playing career. He was also admitted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011. Sanders won two Super Bowl championships and was also named the 1994 Defensive Player of the Year. Sanders is best known for his football accomplishments, but he also played professional baseball for nine years.
After being drafted in the 1988 MLB Draft, he joined the New York Yankees. The year after that, he would go on to become the first and only player to score an NFL touchdown and hit a professional home run in the same week.
