Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may have set the stage for a second comeback for the XFL brand. The Rock had bought the XFL for $15 million, according to ESPN, when Vince McMahon declared the XFL bankrupt.
While the current value of the XFL is not yet calculated, this is the first year since Johnson purchased it. While it is well known that players and coaches make large sums of money, the current value of the XFL is still considered to be equal to the price at which former WWE wrestler acquired it.
McMahon, who owns WWE, created the league, which debuted in 2001 but disbanded after its only season.
The XFL was a failure, but despite that, it had a cult following that lasted for decades and eventually led to a resurrection. In 2020, the revamped league made its debut amid much enthusiasm. Additionally, it garnered some of the highest television ratings for any non-NFL professional football league in recent memory.

Nevertheless, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in the midst of the XFL season, causing it to suspend operations.
Thankfully, McMahon is not the only successful businessman with ties to football and wrestling. Before starting his illustrious wrestling career, The Rock was a star in Miami and briefly played for the CFL.
The Rock is the only person who has what it takes to make the XFL into something that will last.
How much Vince McMahon invested in XFL
A collaborative venture between the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and NBC, led by NBC executive Dick Ebersol and McMahon, operated for just one season in 2001.
The league ran in late winter and early spring to capitalize on Americans' continued interest in football after the NFL season ended. It was an effort to compete with country's premier professional league.
It did, however, gradually degrade, and the league ceased operations. While McMahon quietly ended the XFL, his love for the game remained. Afterwards, he made the decision to invest heavily in a new launch.
So, how much money did McMahon spend to revive the XFL?
Mr. McMahon sold USD 100 million worth of WWE stock in the latter part of 2017 to help finance Alpha Entertainment. For those who don't know, the latter serves as the XFL's parent corporation and is led by McMahon.
After spending USD 100 million, the 77-year-old said that he anticipates more equity funding totaling USD $500 million. Then, in March 2019, he sold 4% of WWE to raise USD 270 Million for Alpha Entertainment.
