The NFL preseason opener between the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts is set for Sunday, August 11, at 1:00 ET. NFL Network will broadcast the game nationwide from Lucas Oil Stadium.

Additionally, the game will be televised locally in the Denver region on KTVD Channel 20, with Scotty Gange, Ryan Harris, Steve Levy and Cynthia Frelund serving as the broadcast crew. FOX 59 will broadcast the game for Colts fans in the local television market.

This season, the Denver Broncos are looking to identify their future quarterback. The Indianapolis Colts, on the other hand, are hoping to build on their 9-8 record from the previous season and make a run at the playoffs. Coaches Sean Payton and Shane Steichen, both in their second seasons, will offer their teams a fresh perspective.

This game will mark the 14th time the Broncos and the Colts have faced off in the preseason. Denver has won seven of those games, while Indianapolis has won six. The last preseason contest between the two teams took place in 2005, and the Colts lost 37-24 in Denver.

According to coach Payton, Jarrett Stidham will start at quarterback for the Denver Broncos today. He also mentioned that Broncos fans will get to see rookie Bo Nix in action—at least for a drive—during this first preseason game. Denver fans will have additional opportunities to witness Nix in action next week as he has been selected as the starter for the second preseason game.

Anthony Richardson, whom the Colts selected in the first round of the 2023 draft, will also return to action on Sunday. Steichen announced on Friday that he will give playing time to most of the team's key players against the Broncos. Richardson has not participated in any games since suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5 of the 2023 campaign. However, he may be involved minimally today.

"We'll get the young guys in there and give them an opportunity after the starters play a series or two," Steichen said. [H/T IndyStar]
