Aaron Rodgers has always been a free-spirited person throughout his almost two decades in the NFL. Several times, his words have landed him in hot water, but the QB doesn’t mind. Now, A-Rod has expressed his regret over his COVID-19 vaccine comments from 2021.
The then Green Bay Packers QB had stated in the media that he was “immunized” against the COVID-19 virus. After receiving a ton of backlash from the media and fans alike, Rodgers explained that he was allergic to one of the compounds (PEG) present in the available vaccines.
In the upcoming book "Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers," the superstar QB expressed his poor choice of words over those statements. As per ESPN, A-Rod said to the author Ian O'Connor:

"If there's one thing, I wish could have gone different, it's that, because that's the only thing [critics] could hit me with."

The New York Jets QB stated his response to the entire situation would’ve been more direct and blunter. He outrightly denied the vaccines containing PEG compound and distanced himself from Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine which did not have PEG compound.
“But if I could do it again”, said Rodgers. “I would have said [in August], f--- the appeal. I'm just going to tell them I'm allergic to PEG, I'm not getting Johnson & Johnson, I'm not going to be vaxxed.”

As per ESPN, O'Connor further states in the book that Rodgers “wouldn’t have” vaccinated even if a mandate was in place. This mandate would’ve made him ineligible to play in the NFL.
