“I never knew exactly what I wanted to do as a kid. I had always loved vlogging our family trips, the first second I got a phone, it was all pictures and videos," Earle told Baratta.
"One of my first jobs was working at a clothing store. I would run their socials and curate posts … I was really interested in creating content, and I loved it—it never felt like work for me. Honestly, it still doesn’t.”
Before the story came out, she attended a party for that photo shoot. Earle went to that party wearing an orange dress and posed next to the cover photo, wherein she wore a necklace with ice cubes and turquoise mascara.
Alix Earle also shared the magazine cover, generating many reactions from her followers. She became influential on TikTok for her ‘Get Ready With Me’ (GRWM) videos, in which she reveals her thoughts and insecurities while putting on makeup and preparing for an event.
“One day, I just decided to tell everyone, ‘Hey, you know, I haven’t really been posting ‘cause my acne has been really bad, but here’s how I cover it up with makeup.’ And the second I did that, I started to grow this community and have these followers that were able to relate to me," Earle said.
"It just gave my brand a whole different meaning, and I realized the power of being authentic online and being yourself.”
