Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is officially done with life as a player, and what is the next step for some of the best NFL players after they retire? Ownership.

While having a stake in an NFL franchise is extremely costly, other teams are not. In Brown's case, he has now made the transition from player to owner.

The 34-year-old is now a part of the Albany Empire ownership group. Albany play in the National Arena Football League and having Brown as a part owner is sure to bring some serious media attention to the franchise.

While it is not known exactly how much stake the former Pittsburgh Steeler and New England Patriot has in the team, we can imagine a nice little slice. How much money that cost the receiver is unknown, but he appears to be pretty happy with his decision.

It presents a good step in the right direction for him. If there is one thing he knows, it’s football, and he will be hoping to bring that knowledge to the Albany Empire.

At one point in time, Antonio Brown was considered one of the best receivers in the NFL. After starting his career with Pittsburgh, he bounced around the league from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New England Patriots and lastly the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Unfortunately, for the receiver, troubled times often followed him, and aside from his one good year in Tampa (2020, winning the Super Bowl), he couldn't seem to stay out of trouble.

Nonetheless, his new ownership stake presents a different option for him to put all his energy into. Exactly what he will be doing as part of the ownership group is unknown. We can, however, imagine that given his football knowledge, he may want to give that to some players on the team.

Either way, the good news is that he is making positive moves off the field, and who knows, maybe one day he could be a part of an NFL team as an owner.
