In Photos: Derrick Nnadi's girlfriend Nani announces pregnancy with DT day before Chiefs Christmas showdown 

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi and his girlfriend, Nani, shared the heartwarming news of their pregnancy on Christmas. They both took to Instagram to share the news with the world, along with the caption:

"Guess who made the Nnadi List? 🎄 #MerryChristmas."

It was a perfect Christmas for Nnadi, as the Chiefs put on a clinic against the Pittsburgh Steelers, coming away with an important 29-10 win from Acrisure Stadium. This clinched the No. 1 seed for Kansas City, giving them a bye and home-field advantage in their quest for a three-peat.

It has now been three years since the pair first started dating, and Nani has gotten to see Nnadi win two Super Bowls with the Chiefs in that time. The DT has spent his entire career with the franchise since being drafted in the third round in 2018 and won his first Super Bowl back in early 2020.

After Nnadi won his third Super Bowl in 2024, Nani shared a post appreciating his incredible success:

"My 3X Super Bowl Champion! 💍💍💍."

Nani has a Master of Science in Nursing degree and in March, she took to IG to announce:

"Guess who just added more letters to their name? Introducing G. Hinton, MSN, RN! After graduation, I honestly needed a break. I pushed my NCLEX back multiple times which resulted in me having to take the NextGen version.

"I had to put my head down and grind to achieve this. I had to give up my jet setter lifestyle for a couple weeks and rearrange my priorities. Weeks of crying and self-doubting, but I knew in the end that God was my foundation, so why would he fail me? I passed in 85 questions & I am so damn proud of myself. ✨"

Derrick Nnadi and Nani’s animal welfare initiatives

The pair have always had a deep affection for animals, particularly dogs. Over the past four years, Derrick Nnadi has sponsored the adoption of almost five hundred pets, primarily euthanasia candidates. In addition to being a huge dog lover, Nani is actively involved in animal welfare initiatives across the United States.

In February 2020, after the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV, Nnadi paid the adoption costs for all 91 of the KC Pet Project's shelter puppies. Rocky, his rescue dog, served as the inspiration for this project. Nnadi founded the Derrick Nnadi Foundation, which works to improve the lives of animals in poor communities.

Derrick Nnadi shared his love for animals again in November, supporting Best Friends during the NFL's My Cause My Cleats initiative (via Best Friends):

“When I come home, Rocky acts like I haven’t been there in 20 years. It is a breath of fresh air, coming back after a long day. Whether it’s a big win or a bad loss — whatever type of day I’ve had — I come home and they’re just happy to see me.

“A Nnadi dog is a dog with just a bunch of energy and a bunch of love and could be a little wacky. Emphasis on a little wacky.”

As Derrick Nnadi says, “Every dog should have a chance.”
