In Photos: Patrick Mahomes relaxes with 'most fun' family day before 2024 football season kicks off

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are ready to take on the 2024 NFL season. Returning as reigning champions, they have a chance to make history with a three-peat in 2025.

Football season requires a player to focus on the game completely, traveling for days until the campaign wraps up.

Mahomes, on his end, is enjoying his few days off with his family in Kansas City.

In a few stories on Instagram, Brittany Mahomes shared a sneak peek into their 'fun' day as a family.

The family visited an arcade, playing on a bumper car variant. Brittany shared a video of their three-year-old daughter, Sterling Skye, enamored by her daughter's laugh.

Brittany and Sterling were in individual cars, while Mahomes seemed to ride with their baby boy, Bronze.

Sharing a photo someone else took, Brittany wrote:

"The most fun day," Brittany wrote.

A day before, Brittany was cooing over Patrick Mahomes and Sterling's adorable reading time. The daughter-father duo was facing away from the camera, reading a book together while Brittany took a snap.

"My heart," Brittany wrote on Instagram.

Patrick Mahomes is willing to retire early for his family

With three Super Bowls to his name, Patrick Mahomes is up for the GOAT debate alongside Tom Brady.

Brady, though, spent 20 years playing in the league.

In an interview with TIME, Mahomes said:

“I’ve looked, if I played until Tom [Brady]’s age, my daughter would be 19, 20 years old. That would mean missing plenty of youth sporting events and other commitments.

“I would love to play that long. At the same time, I want to be there for my daughter. If I can do that, I'll continue to play. But if I feel like it's taking away from my family time, that's when I'll know it's time to go.”

Adding on to the same, Mahomes admitted that he doesn't think he's close to the GOAT status.

That being said, Mahomes will probably play a few more years before deciding to step away.
