T.J. Watt and Dani Rhodes: Relationship Timeline
T.J. Watt and Dani Rhodes were college sweethearts. The soon-to-parents met while both were attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison as student-athletes.
While TJ let go of his senior and was eventually drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017, Dani went on to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences Communication in 2020. Simultaneously, she played college soccer for the university till 2019.
In 2020, Dani made her NSWL debut with the Chicago Red Stars and played in three games before signing with Úrvalsdeild kvenna's Þróttur Reykjavík in July 2021.
In the same month, Watt popped the big question to Dani, and she said, "Yes!"
And, the following year, the lovebirds got hitched in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
"When I was a little girl I never thought I'd find someone special enough to ever change my last name… But I found him and couldn't be happier to share a name with the man of my dreams," Rhodes wrote on Instagram after tying the knot.
After getting married, Dani retired from soccer, eight months later, in February 2023. Now, as Mr. and Mrs. Watt get ready to welcome their first child, their journey certainly comes full circle.
