Is Aaron Donald playing tonight vs. Raiders in Week 14?

Is Aaron Donald playing tonight?

The Los Angeles Rams will battle the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football, but will Aaron Donald be suiting up? The Rams have been perhaps one of the worst teams in the NFL over the last six weeks, losing all six games.

Injuries have played a large part in that. Quarterback Matthew Stafford was placed on Injured Reserve after a spinal cord contusion. Meanwhile, receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain that could see him miss "several weeks," according to reports.

But what about Donald? The star defender was missing in the Rams' 27-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Will the 31-year-old suit up at SoFi Stadium vs. the Raiders in what could be Baker Mayfield's first game for LA?

If you were hoping to see the three-time Defensive Player of the Year strut his stuff against Las Vegas, you are going to have to wait at least another week.

Head coach Sean McVay told the media on Wednesday that Donald will be out. It marks the second-straight game that the Rams will be without who many call the best defensive player to ever play the game.

With their season reeling at 3-9 and sitting bottom of the division, the season is all but over for McVay's team. Even if there is a chance Donald could return in the next week or so, the general consensus is for the organization to wrap him in cotton wool and save him for 2023.

Have the Rams suffered a Super Bowl hangover?

In the grand scheme of things, one would have to say no. Given the absurd number of injuries and not to mention losing Andrew Whitworth (retirement) and Von Miller (Bills), their fate has been down to bad luck.

While many had the Rams back in the playoffs, no one would have envisioned them being 3-9 after 12 games. But that is the NFL and nothing is guaranteed except change.

For the Rams, all the eggs went into last season's basket and they won the Super Bowl. But this year, injuries have robbed them of a chance to repeat.
