The 2024 season has arguably been the most arduous of Aaron Rodgers' Hall of Fame career. However, the superstar capped it off with a stellar display against the Miami Dolphins as he led the New York Jets to a 32-20 win in their season finale.
The quarterback completed 23 of his 36 pass attempts for 274 yards and threw four touchdown passes and one interception. The first of the four was his 500th career touchdown pass. He became only the fifth player after Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady to achieve the feat.
While nothing is set in stone, the consensus is that the game against the Dolphins was Rodgers' swansong as a Jets player and perhaps as an NFL star. Some fans believe the quarterback attested to it.

They claim that the 41-year-old was caught on camera telling someone on his team's sideline, "It's my last game."
"Yes. Yes, he certainly did," one fan said.
"Good, it should be," another fan commented.
"Sure looks like it," a third fan said.
A few other lip-readers denied it and argued that he said, "It's about time."
"Looks like he says “it’s about time,” another fan echoed.
“'It’s about time'” in relevance to the scoring and the offense working," one suggested.
Is Aaron Rodgers retiring? QB opens up about plans
It's hard to know for sure what the quarterback said. However, if he did say it was his last game, he likely meant for the Jets and not in the NFL. In his post-game press conference, Aaron Rodgers was asked if he'd be willing to join another team if the franchise decided to move on from him in the offseason. He responded:
"A lot of hypothetical here. IF I want to play, hypothetical number 1, IF [the Jets] want to move on, hypothetical number 2, would I be willing to play for another team, hypothetical number 3? The answer is yes."
While he's open to continuing his career elsewhere, his priority is to stay in New York and play for the Jets. In his post-game interview, the four-time MVP put the ball in the franchise's court and asked the top brass to decide whether to retain or let him walk. He said:
"I'm not going to hold anybody up. I'll have conversations tomorrow with the Jets to see what they're thinking, and then we will make a decision before it gets too late in the offseason."
Aaron Rodgers' relationship with Jets owner Woody Johnson is seemingly strained and there's little hope that the duo could mend fences. But irrespective of what the team decides, the quarterback is seemingly leaning towards playing in 2025 and not calling it a day on his Hall of Fame career just yet.
