Wide receiver Calvin Ridley will return to the National Football League this upcoming season, but while his stats are well-known by NFL fans, many don't know much about his personal life.

Ridley met Dominique Fitchard while both were college students in Alabama. The 28 year old wide receiver attended the University of Alabama where he was a star receiver for the Crimson Tide.

Fitchard, a former high school basketball player, attended Alabama’s Tuskegee University along with her twin sister Monique.

Fitchard and her sister both graduated from Alabama’s Tuskegee University and became certified occupational therapists. Dominique and her sister are also co-owners of a hair extension business called Hella Fly Hair Collection, LLC.

Ridley and Fitchard got engaged in February 2019 and were married sometime after that. Fitchard is active on Instagram with over 30,000 followers on Instagram and in the past has documented her gameday outfits and experience while cheering on the wide receiver.

The wide receiver, who was traded by the Atlanta Falcons to the Jacksonville Jaguars, recently mentioned his battle with anxiety. In a self-written article in "The Player's Tribune", he detailed his account of anxiety and trying to play and live through it.

He then spoke about the time that he, his wife and daughter drove home after a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Saying that their home had been broken into. He said:

After the game, I drove home with my wife and daughter, and I saw the whole neighborhood lined up right outside our house. Our front door was kicked in. Police cars everywhere. Our house had been robbed while we were at the game.

He added:

At first, me and my wife were pretty calm about everything. They took a bunch of jewelry and stuff, but nothing we couldn’t replace. But then we watched the security footage, and we saw about five or six guys come in with guns drawn. If you have a child, that’s your worst nightmare. My wife was traumatized. She couldn’t sleep at night. She couldn’t stand me being out of the house.

He has said that this experience only raised his anxiety as well as caused him and his wife constant fear. The family will now get a fresh start in Jacksonville this year.

Calvin Ridley and Dominique Fitchard have one child, a daughter named Cree, who was born in June 2020.

Fitchard occasionally posts photos of her fiancee and daughter on social media. While Ridley has deactivated his Instagram account, he shares photos of his daughter, for example, a recent video of her at a trampoline park where he declared that she was ready for the junior olympics.
