DeAndre Hopkins is set to play as the Arizona Cardinals will welcome the New Orleans Saints to the State Farm Stadium in Week 7 of the 2022-23 NFL season. The Thursday Night Football clash between the two struggling NFC teams is bound to be an intriguing one. More so as receiver Hopkins is set to make his first start of the season for the hosts. The five-time Pro Bowler hasn't played in the NFL in the past 10 months but is in line to start against New Orleans.
Barring any late injury or setback, Hopkins will play for the Cardinals in Thursday's matchup against the Saints. He is currently listed as active on the Arizona roster. Hopkins missed the Cardinals' final five games last season, including one game in the playoffs, due to a knee injury. Arizona had a 8-2 record when he was in their lineup. Without him, they crashed out of the playoffs in the first round against the Los Angeles Rams.
Hopkins was then given a six-game suspension for violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy in May. The receiver, by his own admission, tested positive for trace amounts of a banned substance called Ostarine. In total, Hopkins has missed the last 11 games for the Cardinals. However, his much-awaited return will provide a big boost for quarterback Kyler Murray and the team's offense.
