Is D.K. Metcalf playing tonight vs Cardinals in Week 9?

New York Giants v Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf celebrates after winning against the New York Giants

Is D.K. Metcalf playing tonight? That is the question on many Fantasy Football fans' minds right now as the Seattle Seahawks look to take on the Arizona Cardinals.

In what should come as welcome news to many, D.K. Metcalf is playing tonight against the Arizona Cardinals. There were questions about the star's availability after both he and Tyler Lockett entered last week's game against the New York Giants coming off injuries.

But as per the Seahawks' final injury report released ahead of the Cardinals game, neither D.K. Metcalf nor Tyler Lockett are any longer on the injury list. The Arizona Cardinals will have their hands full as Metcalf will be playing tonight. The mercurial receiver took the league by storm before the 2019 NFL Draft thanks to the now-viral image of him flexing alongside Ole Miss teammate A.J. Brown.

Metcalf is famous for his incredible build and speed. The wide receiver towers over opposition cornerbacks and often leaves them in the dust when running routes. And if he's not able to beat them with his pace, his strength and athleticism help him make plays anywhere on the field.

D.K. Metcalf Fantasy Football update and predictions

Metcalf had ten targets during the Seahawks' win against the New York Giants in Week 8. Catching six of those passes, the wide receiver ended the night with 55 receiving yards and a touchdown. The former Ole Miss star managed to put up 11.5 points in that game and is expected to enjoy similar success against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Alternative picks to D.K. Metcalf for your fantasy team

With the former Ole Miss star playing against the Arizona Cardinals, he will prove to be an invaluable WR2 for your fantasy team. But in case you are looking for alternatives, here are some other players you can consider for your fantasy team in week 9:

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Kansas City Chiefs star JuJu Smith-Schuster has had a slow start to his life at Arrowhead since being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers. But over the past two game weeks, he has really taken off.

Scoring two TDs, the wideout also managed to rack up over 100 receiving yards in each game, helping him earn close to 20 fantasy points. This week, against a Tennessee Titans defense that has conceded nine touchdowns to WRs this season, expect Schuster to pull off another 100+ yard touchdown performance.

Tyler Boyd

The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to line up with Tyler Boyd as their WR2 during their clash against the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. Tee Higgins is expected to lead the charge as WR1 in the absence of star wideout Ja'Marr Chase. However, Boyd will definitely get to see more game time than usual against the Panthers.

Boyd, statistically, had the best game of his career against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7, putting up 155 receiving yards and scoring a touchdown. Against the Panthers' leaky slot coverage, expect Boyd to once again score a TD and get over 100+ receiving yards.
