Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants are off to an unexpected and impressive start this season. The Giants hired a new coach and Barkley is coming off a season in which he spent the majority of his time struggling and playing through injuries.
The running back is second in rushing yards this season and his team sits at 5-1 heading into their bout with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's been nursing a shoulder injury that he and the team certainly hope will not keep him out of tonight's contest.
Despite a sore shoulder, Barkley currently has no injury designation. He is not Questionable, Doubtful or Out, so he should play. Unless an unforeseen complication or new injury arises during warmups, the star running back will be out there terrorizing the Jacksonville defense.

Where is Saquon Barkley playing tonight?
The former Penn State product will be lining up at running back tonight since that's his position. However, he may also line up as a slot wide receiver on some plays and will run routes out of the backfield, too.
Saquon Barkley's fantasy football update and predictions
Given how well he's performed this year, with an average of over 20 points in PPR leagues (good for the second-best running back in football so far), he should do very well if healthy.
ESPN has him projected to score 20.6 points today in PPR leagues, so he should perform well against the 27th best running back defense in fantasy. They also list him with a 7% chance of scoring more than 23 points, also known as "booming."
The Giants do not boast an elite defense, so expect a high scoring game with plenty of opportunities for the running back to get touches and a lot of points.
Saquon Barkley alternative picks for your fantasy team
Since he's playing, there is almost no better option today. However, should something come up, there are options.
ESPN predicts that Carolina Panthers running back D'Onta Foreman will take over the bulk of carries in the wake of the Christian McCaffrey trade. Despite a poor matchup, the volume may be there for a solid day.
Kenyan Drake will slide into the lead back role after Baltimore Ravens back J.K. Dobbins went on IR. Last week, he scored 19.7 in that role. Expect more of the same today.
