Is Tom Brady happy after retirement? Podcast co-host makes interesting observation

Future Hall of Famer Tom Brady has retired after spending 23 seasons as an NFL quarterback.

He didn't go out on top as he hoped, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the playoffs.

While Brady had originally retired from football last offseason, he changed his mind after 40 days and returned for another season. Athough there was some hope and optimism that he would return for another season in 2023, he filed his retirement papers with the NFL last week, confirming his Twitter post from earlier in the month.

One of the things Brady does in his spare time is host a podcast titled "Let's Go" with former NFL wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.

When Fitzgerald was asked if he thinks Brady is happy postretirement by People magazine in an interview at the On Location Hospitality Suite during Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona, he said:

"I talk to Tom once a week. We have our podcast together, and I knew it was coming to that time. We spent a lot of time, last off season in particular, together, and when you get to be that age, you've accomplished so much and you start prioritizing.

"For him, it wasn't about him playing or not playing. I just want him to be happy. At the end of the day, you just want the best for your friends, and if he's internally grateful about the decision that he made, then I support him 100%."

Tom Brady will be elgible to make the Hall of Fame in 2028 while Fitzgerald will be elgible in 2026.

Both players played at the top of their positions throughout their careers.

Fitzgerald earned 11 Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro selections. He ended his 17-year career with 1,432 receptions for 17,492 yards and 121 touchdowns.

Brady retired with more Super Bowl victories, passing yards, completions, touchdowns and wins than anyone else in NFL history.

The two host the "Let's Go" podcast together and in the future can talk about both of them making the Hall of Fame.
