Tom Brady decided to call it a career after the 2021 NFL season. After just 40 days, however, he realized that he still had more football to play and returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But once he arrived at Buccaneers training camp, the situation began to feel off-kilter. Brady was given an 11 day excused absence from training camp and played in just one pre-season game. Rumors surrounding his personal life and a possible divorce from wife Gisele Bundchen have swirled and the 45 year old quarterback is under the microscope.
After a Week 1 win on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, the Buccaneers have struggled and now have a 3-4 record. Tampa Bay will host the Baltimore Ravens for Thursday Night Football at Raymond James Stadium tonight. Despite dealing with a finger injury and taking hits to his shoulder recently, Tom Brady will be playing.

Brady is looking to help his team turn things around this week and halt their losing streak. Brady has not started a season with a record under .500 through the first seven weeks in over two decades. The Buccaneers haven't lost three games in a row in 20 years.
Back-to-back losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Carolina Panthers have compounded their issues. Injuries to the offense have been a problem, but with reliable assets like Mike Evans and Chris Godwin healthy, things should be turning around soon.
Brady will be without a few key pieces to his offense. Tight end Cameron Brate, who suffered a sprained neck against the Steelers, is out this week. Wide receiver Julio Jones will be a gametime decision and Russell Gage has been ruled out.
Brady took a big hit on his throwing shoulder against the Kansas City Chiefs but has continued to play through it. Despite a poor record, Tampa Bay are still in the race for the NFC South division. They are currently tied with the Atlanta Falcons at 3-4 and the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints are 2-5.
We will see if Tom Brady can change the narrative on Thursday Night Football.
