Zach Ertz of the Arizona Cardinals is not playing in Week 11 of the 2022 NFL season. The year eleven veteran is out for the rest of the campaign with an injury, and fantasy football league owners are scrambling for replacements.
Ertz was on pace to have a Pro Bowl-caliber season, but he was struck with a knee injury requiring season-ending surgery. Thus, his 2022 NFL season is over, leaving the 4-6 Arizona Cardinals light in a tricky position as their season reaches a critical phase.

The Philadelphia Eagles also placed Dallas Goedert on IR this week and tight ends suddenly became even more valuable. As players like Mark Andrews and Travis Kelce are not going to be easy to get hold of, here are some plausible replacements at tight end.
Trey McBride and Stephen Anderson will compete for the tight end position in Arizona. McBride is an obvious replacement for Ertz, as he is set to be the leading tight end in Arizona.
Foster Moreau of the Las Vegas Raiders is another solid choice. With Darren Waller on IR, Moreau looks set to keep the starting role. With the Raiders in freefall at 2-7, they will have to win out to have any hope of making the postseason.
Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has exploded into form of late. After catching one total pass in the opening three weeks, he has seen the endzone five times in the last three games. He has picked up enormously and is a must-pick if available.
Other than these three, the tight end position will have to be streamed based on weekly matchups. Looking at Week 11's fixtures, we recommend taking a look at the following tight ends:
- Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders
- Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons vs. Chicago Bears
- Hayden Hurst, Cincinnati Bengals vs, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Tyler Conklin, New York Jets vs. New England Patriots
- Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams
Zach Ertz's 2022 stats
Zach Ertz is one of the premier tight ends in the NFL. At the time of his knee injury, he ranked as the sixth-best tight end in the league and was rostered by 80.7% of the league. This season saw Ertz return to his peak Philadelphia years as the tight end rolled back the clock to perform admirably week in and week out.
The 2013 35th overall pick is one of the most dominant players in his position. His stellar form continued as he helped steady the ship rocked by the lack of availability from DeAndre Hopkins at the start of the season.
In the meantime, the Arizona Cardinals will hope that Trey McBride and Stephen Anderson can lead the way. Zach Ertz will be back next season, determined to put up career numbers. As for this season, it is sadly a write-off for Ertz,
