For the New York Jets, a disappointing season ended with a 32-20 win over the Miami Dolphins where they poured cold water on Mike McDaniel's hopes of making the playoffs. The Jets had little to play for but Aaron Rodgers still ended up putting on a show, throwing 274 yards and four touchdowns, the first of which was his 500th career touchdown.

Rodgers showed the world he still has some football left in him and after Week 18, there's still a section of people in the NFL world who believe the Jets should bring the four-time NFL MVP back for next season. One man who is in that camp is Rex Ryan, who has already interviewed with the franchise for the vacant head coach role. However, Ryan made it clear that he will not stand for Rodgers missing mandatory minicamp like he did last year.

"Clearly, when you have a guy that doesn't show up for mandatory minicamp -- and, by the way, he's your quarterback, coming off an injury. I think that's an absolutely ridiculous message you send to the team," Ryan said on the DiPietro & Rothenberg Show.
"If he comes back, things would be different. If he's back, it ain't gonna be the country club, show up whenever the hell you want to show up. That ain't gonna happen."

What 'Broadway Joe' thinks Aaron Rodgers should do for 2025 NFL season

Jets legend Joe Namath was impressed with what he saw in Week 18 from Rodgers. After the Jets picked up their fifth win in their regular-season finale against Miami, Namath wrote on X:

"After watching Aaron Rodgers play today, there's no doubt he's got at least another year in him. So if he WANTS to, I'd love to see him stay with the Jets. He could definitely help the new GM and coach, as well as play ball. He's still throwing with accuracy and authority."

If Rodgers is on the roster for next season, the Jets will incur a cap charge of $23.5 million. They will also have to pay him a $35 million option bonus to go with $2.5 million in base salary.

However, the head coach and general manager vacancy could further delay any decision on Rodgers' future.
