Bill Belichick has been under the scope ever since departing from the New England Patriots. And his portrayal on Apple TV’s ‘The Dynasty: New England Patriots” isn’t helping him much. However, one of his former players has taken the mantle to clear the name of his ex-head coach.

Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was with Boston.com’s Khari A. Thompson when he revealed his feelings for the show ‘The Dynasty’ on streaming.

“I think it’s awful too, honestly," Bourne said. "It’s just a lot. It made Bill look bad and I love Bill. I love everything he stood for. It was just kind of crazy how it made him look and it seemed like a lot of misunderstanding and confusion that was going on.
"I enjoyed seeing the history and learning about the history. It’s always dope to learn about history. But, they tried to swing it one way or the other and it didn’t have to be like that,” he added.

Bourne joined the list of current and former Patriots players to show their displeasure with the show. Bourne further commented on the depiction of Bill Belichick in the show:

“I was kind of on the fence about it because I love the history part, but I hate how they made Bill Belichick look. I hate how they tried to make it look divided. I think every team goes through that, but when you’re a dynasty and you win a lot of people still try to discredit it.”

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was traded to the Patriots from the Niners in 2021. And even though Bourne did not enjoy the trophy-winning seasons with Belichick at the Patriots, the 28-year-old respects his former HC.

Bourne missed the entirety of the last season due to an ACL injury, he is preparing to come back strong for this year’s campaign.

With Jerod Mayo at the helm now, Bourne and others are looking to build the team back up. The upcoming draft and trade deals will be crucial for the New England Patriots.

Bill Belichick is in waiting mode

After the revelation as to why Belichick wasn’t hired by the Atlanta Falcons as their new HC, many teams know Belichick is available. The 72-year-old has made it clear on several occasions that he still wants to continue coaching.

Belichick may have to wait until the end of the season for an opportunity. Or he could be called to replace someone in the middle of it, but for the time being, the six-time Super Bowl champion must wait his turn.
