Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan expressed his thoughts about the team's disappointing 1-4 start to the season and addressed Doug Pederson's future with the franchise. The Jaguars have seen significant decline, going from AFC South champions in 2022 to missing the playoffs in 2023 after an 8-3 start.

Despite the team's struggles, Khan emphasized that the team's main goal is to win now, but he's not considering any changes regarding Doug Pederson's position.

"No. Not at all," Khan told the Times Union regarding changes within the franchise.
"I still believe in them. I believe in the players, I believe in the coaching staff. I believe in Trent [Baalke]. Obviously, the results are disappointing for all of them, just as well as me or any other Jaguar fan, but, the key thing one has to understand [is] we have evolved and really got to a level. I think we've got the players, we've got the coaching, we've got the facilities."

He reflected on the first three losses of the campaign, saying it was disappointing to let games they could've won slip.

"So, to me, every game you go to, you want to do everything to win it and this is the NFL, that's hard. Every game is competitive. A loss is a loss, but [it's about] how you lose," Khan said. "To me, the three games we lost early in the season, it's disappointing, [but] we could have won them."

Jacksonville Jaguars travel to London to chase second win of the season

After handling Joe Flacco and the Indianapolis Colts last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars headed to London to face the intriguing Chicago Bears on Saturday. They extended their dominance at home with a dramatic 37-34 win over the Colts and now will try to beat Caleb William and Co. to improve to 2-4 for the season.

Trevor Lawrence had his best game of the season against the Colts, completing 82.4% of his pass attempts, racking up 371 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and a 119.5 rating. The JAGS know they need to start winning games if they want to keep their chances alive in the AFC South, especially with the Houston Texans playing at a high level.

Doug Pederson is thought to be on the hot seat after the underwhelming 1-4 start, but Khan shot those rumors down. However, things could still change if Jacksonville fails to deliver.
