Jaire Alexander injury update: Packers HC delivers update on CB ahead of Seahawks clash

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander is one of the best in the NFL. Unfortunately, injuries have been bothering him the last four years, and this season is no different.

Alexander missed 10 games last season. He played in 16 during the 2022 season, but just four during the 2021 season. This season, he's missed six games and will miss a seventh in Week 15.

As the Packers prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, they will be without Alexander once again. The Athletic's reporter, Matt Schneidman posted the news Friday afternoon.

"Jaire Alexander is OUT for Sunday’s game, Matt LaFleur says. Based on what he saw in two full practices this week, didn’t feel Alexander was ready so he didn’t practice today."

In seven games played this season for Green Bay, Alexander has recorded 16 tackles, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown and seven pass deflections.

At 9-4, could Packers miss playoffs?

Entering Week 15, the Green Bay Packers have a 9-4 record. However, with the NFC North division being so competitve, the Packers are currently in third place in their division.

The Packers are currently one of three playoff wild card teams, holding the sixth seed. The Minnesota Vikings, also in the NFC North division with the Packers, hold the fifth seed at 11-2. The Washington Commanders are right behind the Packers, holding the seventh seed at 8-5.

Green Bay is in a good position to make the playoffs, but the Packers likely need to win at least two or three of their remaining four games to clinch a berth. They'll have two division games, one against the Vikings and another against the Chicago Bears. They will also face the Seahawks and the New Orleans Saints.

The Los Angeles Rams are currently on the outside looking in with an 8-6 record with the eighth seed. If Green Bay loses a few, LA wins out and Washington wins some games, Green Bay could potentially miss out on the playoffs.
