Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson missed his team's last two games after suffering a concussion in their Week 11 loss (34-10) to the Houston Texans on Nov. 18. During his media availability on Friday, he opened up about the severity of the injury and the traumatic experience he endured.
Ferguson revealed that the concussion had an adverse effect on his motor function and he was petrified about it. He said:
"The first two days were bad. I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn't find my water bottle. I started crying. I hadn't cried like that since my dog died in middle school.
"I stopped and I was like, 'What the heck is wrong with me?' I came in here and they were like, 'Yeah, that will happen.'"

He panicked and called his doctors, who calmed him down. He added:
"Talking to the doctors, they were like, 'Your brain is not healthy right now, it's doing everything it can to get that right. It's emotions, it's all this stuff.' That's when I was like I really need to take this serious and really trust our guys here and trust what the doctors are telling me."
Is Jake Ferguson playing in Week 14 vs. Panthers
Jake Ferguson has fully recovered and is feeling healthier. When asked about his mental health and whether he will play in the Cowboys' Week 14 game against the Panthers on Dec. 15, he said:
"I'm so happy to be back and ready to go."
The Cowboys will be ecstatic about Jake Ferguson's return to the field. The tight end will give quarterback Cooper Rush another target in the passing game. His blocking would also aid their running game, which has struggled this season.
Ferguson has 43 catches for 369 receiving yards this year but is yet to catch a touchdown pass. The Cowboys will hope he can break his duck on Sunday against the Panthers and help Dallas win their third straight game and keep their slim hopes of a playoff appearance alive.
