Jalen Carter hyped by fans for massive clutch sack to end Matthew Stafford and Rams' playoff run - "The new Fletcher Cox"

Jalen Carter has ascended into one of the greatest players on the Philadelphia Eagles roster during the 2024 season. The second-year defensive lineman became one of the best in the position, with a quick development to help the team overcome the loss of Fletcher Cox, who retired after the 2023 season.

Carter's excellent year was recognized with an indication to the Second-Team All-Pro after the 2024 season. On Sunday, during the Divisional Round game against the Los Angeles Rams, he was responsible for a key sack on third down of the final drive of the game that ended the game in the Eagles' favor.

Fans rejoiced to see such a young player making a key stop during the most important moment of the game. Philadelphia won the game in the next step following an incomplete throw by Matthew Stafford.

A curious scene during the game happened when Carter was held by a Rams lineman. After the penalty was called, the defensive tackle pointed to the sky and thanked God for the call. In many instances during the 2024 season, he believed that he was held by opposing players, but penalties were called few and far between.

The final opponent before Super Bowl LIX will be a division rival, and a surprising one. The Washington Commanders will travel to Philadelphia for the second time this season, with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels being the final challenger of Nick Sirianni's team.

Daniels, the second overall pick in the 2024 draft, quickly changed the Commanders' fortunes. The team had a 4-13 record in 2023, but they won 12 games a year later and qualified as a wild card. Upset wins against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions have the Eagles on high alert.

Carter had some of his worst games during the 2024 season against the Commanders. He registered no sacks or quarterback hits in two games against Washington.
