James Washington is inching closer to his much-awaited debut for the Dallas Cowboys. The receiver suffered an unfortunate foot injury during the preseason and has been on the injured reserve list ever since.
Washington left the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason to join the Cowboys but is yet to play for the Dallas outfit in the NFL. The 26-year-old recently claimed that his foot has healed but wasn't sure exactly when he would return to the field.
Washington suffered a fractured right foot in his first padded practice of training camp for the Cowboys. The receiver appeared to get his foot caught under teammate Trevon Diggs. Washington wasn't able to stand up or put any weight on his leg before being tended to by medics. Scans later revealed that the Dallas star fractured his fifth metatarsal.

As per reports, Washington was in line to miss six to 10 weeks due to his foot injury. However, he could make his debut for the Cowboys when they travel to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. Mike McCarthy's side are currently tied with the New York Giants for 2nd place in the NFC East with six wins and two defeats.
James Washington stats and fantasy outlook
With James Washington on the injured reserve list and the Cowboys on a bye this week, he is not worth considering in NFL fantasy. In his last season with the Steelers, Washington put up 285 yards on 24 receptions with two touchdowns. He recorded an underwhelming 41.8 fantasy points across 15 games.
Washington is unlikely to become a player that should start in your fantasy team, so you should look at other players readily available instead. As you can't simply trade for receivers like Cooper Kupp and Davante Adams easily, have a look at the players available on waivers with decent Week 9 matchups.
