According to CBS Sports, James Washington is still listed on the Dallas Cowboys' injury report. However, there are also indications that his expected return will be in Week 7.

The latest update arrived on Oct. 16, offering fans hope that something has come close to changing during the ensuing days.

That said, without Washington being listed at least as questionable, it would be safe to assume he won't be on the field this week. At this rate, even if he manages to suit up for the game, his work load will likely be quite limited and far from enough for him to be a game-changing force.

Another player on the return bubble in addition to James Washington is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Prescott suffered a thumb injury during his team's Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a recovery process that forced him to watch backup Cooper Rush coast to a 4-2 record, he is expected by many to play in Week 7. The signal-caller is officially listed as questionable by the Cowboys.

Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is battling a knee injury and is also listed as questionable. Tight end Jeremy Sprinkle is also listed as questionable with an achillies injury. Another name that could return this week is running back Ryan Nall, who is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.

On defense, defensive end Tarell Basham is listed as questionable with a thigh injury. Overall, the roster for the Cowboys could look quite different in Week 7 in comparison to Week 6.

After a Week 1 loss to Tom Brady that saw Dak Prescott suffer a thumb injury, many expected the Cowboys to already be in danger of missing the playoffs.

Instead, Cooper Rush took the team on a 4-1 run in his next five starts, keeping the team afloat as they wait for Prescott's return. The Cowboys are third in their division, currently behind the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 6-0 Eagles own the tiebreaker on the team for now as well, as they defeated Cooper Rush and Co. on Sunday Night Football in Week 6. Will Dak Prescott and James Washington help the team keep pace with the last undefeated team in football?
