Christen Goff, wife of Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff, took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate the victory of the Detroit Lions over the Minnesota Vikings in probably the most-anticipated clash from the NFC.
“LFG,” Christen wrote in the caption of her Instagram story.
There was much hype for the match as the victory ensured the first seed in the conference, benefitting the winner in the playoff with a bye in the first round of the postseason. Both the Vikings and the Lions entered the match with a 14-2 record this season, while the Eagles lost the No. 1 spot after a week 16 loss to the Commanders.

On the other hand, the Lions had the chance to end the regular season with their best performance. So, the stakes were too high.
Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs are too good for the Vikings
The Lions and the Vikings had a neck-to-neck battle until halftime, with a score of 10-7 in favor of the Lions. However, two touchdowns by RB Jahmyr Gibbs in the fourth quarter pushed the match away from the grasp of the Vikings. In the end, the Lions won 31-9, pushing their record to 15-2 this season, their all-time highest win record.
Although Jared Goff had a tremendous season by now, he had a decent outing in the match where he completed 27 of his 33 passes for 231 yards and one touchdown with one interception. It was his ninth game of the season with a PCT of 75% or above, surpassing Tom Brady’s eight in the 2007 season.
Last night, it was Gibbs who was the MVP with four touchdowns from 23 carries for 139 yards. With the victory, they now have an 8-0 away record.
A proud coach, Dan Campbell, spoke to the media after the match and said:
“Our players will show up and make plays, cause the core of this group has been doing it for four years now, and we’ve added to that, and those guys have just continued to add to it and help us along the way and enhance us, and they did it again now. Our guys did it again.”
The Lions will now await the winner of the wild-card divisional round match between the Vikings and the Rams on Jan. 13 at SoFi Stadium.
