After the Washington Commanders pulled off a surprising win over the Detroit Lions in the NFC divisional playoff game on Saturday, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels' mother, Regina Jackson, took to Instagram to share her pride.
Regina reposted the Commanders' official tribute to Daniels, which celebrated his unprecedented milestone, 5,113 offensive yards, the most ever recorded by a rookie.
“That’s my boy!” Daniels' mother captioned it on the overlay.

In a separate Instagram post, she shared an image from the stands, which clearly showed her overwhelmed with the Commanders' 45-31 win.
“Face when your team wasn’t supposed to win and they did! Don’t count out, 🤣😛” read the caption.
In the Commanders vs. Lions clash, Daniels completed 22 of 31 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Additionally, the team's defense added five forced turnovers.
Next up, the Washington Commanders will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship this weekend.
Jayden Daniels’ mom shared emotional post after son’s NFL Draft selection
In April, Jayden Daniels was drafted second overall by the Washington Commanders.
Seven days later, on May 2, his mom, Regina shared her excitement on Instagram with a heartfelt message and photos showing the QB's path, right from college football to the NFL.
"My life through a lens over the last six months," she wrote. "It’s been a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t have missed it for a second. We did it, kid. Love you to the moon and back."
The Instagram post included photos of Regina posing with Daniels during his college days at LSU. Highlights included him holding the 2023 Heisman Trophy and Daniels smiled for the camera while his mother held his Commander's jersey (No. 1) from Draft Day.
Cut to the present, Daniels wears No. 5 for the Washington Commanders. He chose this number because it was the same number he wore in high school and college. Interestingly, he was given this number by Pro Bowl punter Tress Way, who had been wearing it for the Commanders for over a decade.
