Jayden Daniels has been one of the NFL's breakout stars this year. After a loss on his debut, he has been nothing but dominant, scoring multiple touchdowns.

But Sunday's game against no. 1 pick Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears produced his greatest moment yet. In a game that was so highly anticipated that it was flexed into a late afternoon slot.

The Washington Commanders quarterback heaved the walkoff Hail Mary touchdown to Noah Brown, who was fortunate to be alone in the endzone as the ball bounced off of Tyrique Stevenson's hand and into his.

The Commanders are now 6-2, good for the NFC East lead and their best eight-game start since 2008.

Jayden Daniels stats vs. Bears

This is how Jayden Daniels performed on Sunday:

  • Passing attempts: 38
  • Completions: 21
  • Yards: 326
  • Touchdowns: 1
  • Interceptions: 0
  • Rating: 92.7

The first two and 2/3rd quarters were a tale of two stories. One one hand, he was dominating in the air. But on the other, his drives would be stymied on third down, forcing the Commanders to lean on Austin Seibert.

To his credit, the kicker made all but one of his field goal attempts. But then the Bears began their assault, handing off the ball multiple times to D'Andre Swift. And he scored a touchdown.

With only 25 seconds left, they did it again. Roschon Johnson rushed to the endzone, then Cole Kmet made the two-pointer. It seemed as if Danlels' exploits would be all for naught.

And then, with his offensive line clearing the way, he did the aforementioned Hail Mary pass.

Who were Jayden Daniels’ main assets vs Bears?

His top offensive weapon was Terry McLaurin, who had five receptions for 125 yards. Next was Zach Ertz with seven for 77, while Noah Brown’s Mail Mary walkoff was just his third catch of the night and accounted for almost 3/4ths of his total yards (52/73).

The Commanders were also fairly prolific on the ground despite scoring no touchdowns, with Daniels, Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler combining for over 160 yards on 31 carries.

While the Bears were solid on defense, getting two sacks and six tackles for loss against the offensive line, they faltered when it mattered most - two seconds left, with their opponents needing to cover more than 50 yards to score.
