The Miami Dolphins have four running backs capable of bursting out and having big games. De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert are the two top backs, but Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright could also get targets.

The two are popular pickups and fantasy options this week. With fantasy matchups needing to be won, which running back is the better option?

Is Jeff Wilson a good pickup?

Jeff Wilson is third on the Miami Dolphins depth chart, but he still was featured in Miami's Week 1 win over Jacksonville.

Wilson had five carries for 26 yards. With Achane and Mostert ahead of him, there are much better fantasy running back options available than Wilson, who will struggle to get touches.

Wilson is projected for just over two fantasy points in Yahoo's PPR and is only owned in three percent of the leagues.

However, Miami is going up against a Buffalo Bills defense that struggled against the run in Week 1.

Is Jaylen Wright a good pickup?

Jaylen Wright was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft by Miami and is fourth on the depth chart behind Achane, Mostert and Wilson.

However, Wright does have explosive speed and can go off for long runs. With Achane and Mostert both banged up and Miami on a short week, Wright is a good pickup in fantasy football.

The tool doesn't project Wright to get any fantasy points, but if Achane and Mostert can't play, both Wilson and Wright's fantasy projections will skyrocket.

Heading into the season, coach Mike McDaniel envisioned a role for all four running backs.

“I think all players benefit,” coach Mike McDaniel said before the season, via NBC. “There’s supreme urgency to do right with the ball if you deserve to have it. Yeah, the competition is fierce. I’m fired up because we have a group of competitors that will satisfy the thirst for them. It will be fierce.
“Depth comes into question each and every year, so you’re always looking for a full roster.”
