Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his first appearance back on '105.3 The Fan', after he went on a rant during last week's show, threatening to have the hosts fired. Jones was ticked off when he was asked about the Cowboys' lack of aggressiveness in free agency.
Today, before the questions could be brought up, Jones addressed the elephant in the room by bringing up the Cowboys not having interest in running back Derrick Henry this off-season.
This comes after Henry had another monster game last night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, rushing for 169 yards in the Ravens' win.
Jones questioned whether Henry would have had the successful year he's having if he were to sign with Dallas because of his "fit" with the team.

“I don’t know if he’d be having a career year in our situation. … We don’t run that type of offense at all. … Derrick Henry didn’t fit (because of) managing the (salary) cap.”
Jones' comments ticked off Dallas fans. After being the worst rushing offense in the league and seeing Henry flourish with 873 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, fans were not having it with Jones' excuses. They called him out on X for lying about not going after Henry.
"Absolute proof that being the richest man in the room does not make you the smartest," a fan said.
"Jerry keeps tryna deflect instead of admitting he was wrong," a fan wrote.
"It’s never Jerry’s fault and it was always the plan within the plan," a fan said.
Other fans pointed out that even if Henry doesn't fit their offense, they still would have benefited from having him in the backfield. Fans also think quarterback Dak Prescott could have benefited from having Henry in the backfield and that the team would have had to adjust to Henry's style. Either way, it's worked out for the Ravens.
Here's how other fans reacted:
"So essentially no apology and making up more excuses for not kicking the tires on Henry. Got it. Even in our offense he would still be putting up better numbers than our entire current backfield," a fan replied.
"Would he have been better than what we have running the ball downhill? Yes. Catching out of the backfield? No. Still better than what we have overall? Yes. He would have opened up the passing game simply with the play action pass… which IS a staple of the Dallas offense," one fan pleaded.
"The ravens didn't run the type of offense for Derrick Henry either they are more of a read option team and let Lamar make the decisions but when you got Henry you adjust to him to make your team better and now Lamar looks even better imagine how much better Dak would look," one fan argued.
The Dallas Cowboys would have benefited from having Derrick Henry this season
Any team would have benefited from signing Derrick Henry this offseason. Henry leads the league in rushing yards (873) and is tied for the most rushing touchdowns (8) with Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams.
At 30 years old, Henry is on pace to rush for over 2,000 yards this season. The Dallas Cowboys rank last in rush yards (463), rush yards per game (463), rushing touchdowns (2) and yards per carry (3.5.) They could have benefited from signing or drafting many different running backs.
If Jerry Jones was a little more aggressive and if Dallas landed Derrick Henry, their offense would be one of the best in the league right now. But that's a big if.
