CeeDee Lamb has been holding out during the Cowboys' training camp, as he is yet to be signed to a new deal. Amidst this situation, Jones hasn’t shied away from talking to the media regarding Lamb’s status. While Jones’ comments have not always been appreciated by the fans, the owner/GM hasn’t stopped.
The Dallas Cowboys have been sitting ducks throughout the offseason, unable to sign their star players to new deals. On Wednesday, after the practice session, Jones gave an interview to ESPN and highlighted the team’s “conscientious work” to sign CeeDee Lamb.
“We obviously do this because of how bad we want to be together,” said Jones. “I know he wants to be a Dallas Cowboy and we want him to be a Dallas Cowboy, so I don't flare too much when we see something that might be taken the wrong way, I really don't.”
However, the owner/GM also highlighted the lack of any meaningful progress being made on this front. He cited this being the nature of such negotiations.

Jerry Jones has been under the microscope all offseason, due to his “all in” comments. At the same time, the most-valued franchise in the NFL has failed to demonstrate their worth or the ‘all in’ mentality.
CeeDee Lamb is not alone in pursuit of a new deal with the Cowboys
While the case of CeeDee Lamb has been the most highlighted this offseason. Two other Cowboys stars are looking for a new contract, Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott. The LB still has more than a year remaining on his deal.
Dak Prescott, on the other hand, has only a few months left on his current deal. However, the QB has not been holding out and has been diligently working in OTAs and camps waiting for a contract extension.
