Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has some seriously deep pockets. The billionaire made some of his fortune through oil, and since his takeover of the Cowboys, his worth and the franchise's worth has skyrocketed.

With all of Jones' money, Cowboys fans want to see it reinvested into the team. That hasn't really happened, but Jones has now given half a million dollars to Texas Governor Greg Abbott for his political campaign.

According to mysanantonio.com, the contribution from the Cowboys owner is the largest ever made in a Texas statewide election. While it is likely pocket change for someone like Jerry, it looks like he is giving his support to Abbott's campaign this year.

The election is due to be held on Nov. 8 and it is hoped that with Jerry's latest donation, it will help push things in Abbott's favor.

We all know that Jerry Jones has some seriously deep pockets, but how deep? The billionaire owner took over the Cowboys in 1989 for $150 million.

The Cowboys are now reported to be worth $8 billion. That is some jump and it is largely thanks to Jerry.

At the time of writing, the Cowboys owner has an estimated net worth of $15.9 billion. Given how much time and effort he has put into the NFL franchise, coupled with all his business ventures in gas and oil, it is no surprise to see his net worth as high as it is.

As per Forbes.com, the Dallas owner is still investing as well as he has invested in several real estate and drilling opportunities throughout Dallas.

The now 80-year-old shows no signs of slowing down at this stage and it appears that his Cowboys are of a similar mindset. Sitting at 6-2 on the season as they enter the bye week, Jerry was thought to be wanting to splash the cash during the trade deadline.

That didn't happen. However, Dallas was "close" to acquiring Texans receiver Brandin Cooks as the Cowboys were reportedly willing to part ways with a second-round pick for the diminutive receiver.

With Jerry's net worth likely to continue to go up, there appears to be no end to the amount of wealth Jerry can accumulate.
