Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn't care what the Cowboys record is or who's playing, all he wants to do is win. The Cowboys are currently 5-8 and in third place in the NFC East division.
It's been a disappointing season for Dallas, who finished 12-5 last season while winning the NFC East. They had a disappointing first-round exit in the playoffs, losing a 42–38 shootout to the Green Bay Packers.
Dallas isn't technically eliminated from the playoffs but at 5-8, it seems unlikely they will clinch a spot.

Despite being a losing team and having a great chance at ending with a losing record, Jones has no interest in taking and getting a better draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jones said via 105.3 The Fan about Sunday's upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers:
"We want everybody making the plays and having the opportunity to have success. Success is very important. ... We'll go out there and win every down."
Is Mike McCarthy coaching for his job over these last four games for the Dallas Cowboys?

Jerry Jones will have to make many big decisions this offseason but none may be bigger than deciding if the team will bring back coach Mike McCarthy.
McCarthy will be finishing up his fifth season with Dallas once this season concludes. The team struggled in his first season as their leader, finishing 6-10 and missing the playoffs.
The Cowboys would go on to appear in the playoffs the next three seasons while winning the division in 2021 and 2023. In the three playoff appearances under McCarthy, Dallas failed to get past the divisional round and has gone 1-3 in playoff games.
As mentioned above, the Cowboys have struggled this season and have had many injuries, with Dak Prescott being sidelined for over half of the season. They will likely miss the playoffs for the second time in five years.
There are reasons (lack of playoff success) like wanting change and sort of entering a rebuilding process if Dallas wants to go that route. They could also think McCarthy has done enough (three playoff appearances in five years, two division titles, etc.) to retain him.
If Dallas decides to replace him, they better have a few good candidates in mind to replace him with Bill Belichick being hired to be North Carolina's next coach.
