The legal battles for Dallas Cowboys' general manager Jerry Jones have come to an end. Jones filed a countersuit against 27-year-old Alexandra Davis, who claims to be his daughter. The countersuit came to a settlement on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Alexandra and Jones agreed upon a settlement in a Texas court. According to Page Six, Jones was expected to testify in the ongoing trial before the claims were dropped with a mutual agreement between the two.

"I regret that it came to this, and I’m glad that it is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction,” Jones said after Tuesday's court proceedings.

According to the settlement, Alexandra Davis has agreed to drop her lawsuit against the Cowboys' general manager. In exchange, Jones has agreed to dismiss his $1.6 million countersuit against the 27-year-old.

Moreover, the two have agreed to continue with their original settlement, which was signed in 1998, along with the confidentiality agreement.

"I will tell you that my defendants here were well-meaning. Certainly, in the case of the mom. She is a working mom," Jones told the case's jury, per Dallas Morning News.

Alexandra Davis' paternity claims on Jerry Jones

In her previous legal filings, according to DailyMail, Alexandra Davis has claimed that she's the result of an affair between her mother, Cynthia Davis, and Jerry Jones in 1990. In Monday's testimony, Cynthia elaborated on her affair with Jones.

Cynthia revealed that she was in a romantic relationship with Jones when she worked as an employee for American Airlines in Little Rock.

Moreover, court records also state that the Cowboys GM has paid over $3 Million to the 27-year-old since her birth through multiple trusts. Cynthia said she went "desperate" after giving birth to Alexandra, even though she had an attorney represent her during the 1998 settlement.

According to her, she signed "anything they put in front of me" to later regret her decision. Cynthia feels the agreement has denied Alexandra a normal father-daughter relationship with Jones.

Jerry Jones' countersuit wasn't just against Alexandra Davis but also against her mother, Cynthia. It accused them of breaking an agreement that was made 20 years ago. The agreement restricted Cynthia and her daughter from making any legal suits against Jones that could highlight the subject of paternity.

Earlier this year, a Texas county judge stated that Jones would be required to perform a paternity test. The test would have determined if Jones was indeed her father or not. But before it could have happened, the settlement was done.
