An NFL journalist has claimed that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is the only one who has held his ground against the rise of the "woke" left. Speaking on Fearless, Jason Whitlock claimed that the left, specifically Black Lives Matter, has convinced the league to pander to them in an effort to increase viewership. Here's how he put his opinion:

"'Trust me, guys, we're going to sell out to the Marxists, and we're going to be fine. We're going to make even more money.' And that argument - these owners are sitting around... The fact [is] that we've sold out America and the fact [is] that we're betraying all the values we say we stand for. It doesn't matter because we're making more money."

He continued, claiming that the owners aside from Jerry Jones don't care about the product they put out, as long as it is lucrative:

"And so what I see in Jerry Jones is a king that has lost and he's stood his ground single-handedly among a bunch of cowards who have now just said, 'We're going to take this money. Our family is going to be fine. I'm going to be fine, and my grandkids will be fine because I have a bunch of money.'"

The comments appear to be in reference to the recent push to make the NFL more inclusive to all walks of life.

How is Jerry Jones' team doing in 2022?

After an 0-1 start in which quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a thumb injury, the team certainly didn't disappoint. Under backup quarterback Cooper Rush, the team ripped off a 4-1 run, leading some to briefly wonder if a quarterback controversy was on the cards in Dallas.

With Prescott now set to return in short order, the team is primed to keep the run going in an NFC East division that has proven to be as tough as any. The Philadelphia Eagles currently lead the division at 6-0 and the New York Giants are in second place at 5-1.

The Cowboys will be hoping to stay on pace this week as they face the Detroit Lions for a Week 7 showdown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will take place on Sunday, October 23 at 1:00 PM EST.
