Miami Dolphins v New York Jets
ew York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was approached by fan who clearly wants to see his team win a title.

New York Jets' Aaron Rodgers is in Lake Tahoe this weekend to participate in the American Century Championship, an annual celebrity golf tournament.

As he was navigating the course on Wednesday afternoon, as part of a practice session, Rodgers was approached by a man who appeared to be a die-hard fan of the Jets.

The man wept as he approached Rodgers and begged the 40-year-old quarterback to win a Super Bowl. The quarterback comforted the distraught man and gave him a hug while continuing to walk away. The man continued to pump his fists and yell "please" in the quarterback's direction.

“I just want a Super Bowl, Aaron. Please!”

To be a fan of a professional sports team that hasn't won in decades is a hard pill to swallow for many die-hard fans. The video of the interaction was shared on social media and some fans weren't understanding towards the man's emotions.

The word 'cringe' was used frequently to describe the interaction between him and Rodgers.

One fan on X joked that the scriptwriters in the NFL will have a lot of work to do to get this man's dream to come true. Another said that Aaron Rodgers is no longer capable of winning a Super Bowl at this point in his career.

"@NFL script writers. Yall gonna have to do a lot of scripting,"-one fan joked.
"All Aaron is giving you is 8 wins and yelling at you about conspiracies and telling you to vote for the guy with brain worms," one fan said about the quarterback.
"Get a hold of yourself man! lol," declared one fan.

The other commenters on the post were embarrassed for the fan. While others said they would have tried to hold their composure while in Aaron Rodgers' presence.

"Act like you’ve been there dude holy s*** couldn’t be me,"-stated one fan.
"Very Sad,"-one fan said.
"No part of this isn't absolutely cringe inducing," said another.

When was the last time the New York Jets won a Super Bowl?

In 2023, the New York Jets made a trade for quarterback Aaron Rodgers in hopes that he would help turn the tide in the organization. The loyal fan base was all in on the possibility of hoisting a Lombardi Trophy.

Their hopes and dreams for a Super Bowl win were dashed in less than five minutes into the 2023 NFL season. Rodgers went down with a season-ending Achilles injury and the team once again failed to meet expectations.

The one and only time the New York Jets won a Super Bowl title was in 1969. It was a 16-7 win over the Baltimore Colts in Miami that led to the team's only Lombardi Trophy.

To put that into perspective, it was 55 years ago, meaning that a majority of the fan base of today has never seen their team win a title. Hence the reason Aaron Rodgers is being greeted by sobbing fans desperate for New York's success.
