Today, August 21, saw the New York Jets and the New York Giants have joint practice ahead of their preseason finale on Saturday. The 'home team' Jets hosted the visiting Giants as both units practiced with each other in multiple live drills.
Although there wasn't an official score of the two teams' scrimmaging, the Jets seemed to have gotten the best out of their city opponent.
Jets' All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner was asked what his thoughts and opinions were on the Giants' quarterback Daniel Jones after the joint practice. Gardner had trouble answering the question, as he had multiple long pauses in his response.

"He's a good quarterback, you feel me. I thought I was a lot to pick him today. I had a little cloud rip, he had looked at the last minute to three, the check down to Wondale. I thought I had the pick but he kept it. I mean, the competitive periods, it was very competitive, it was great. I had fun out there today. I don't know what else to say."

Fans were laughing in the comment section of the video featuring Gardner's thoughts on Jones. Some think he was sugar-coating his response, trying not to say that Jones isn't good. Others called him out for being a 'liar' in his response.
Here's how fans reacted to Gardner's response:
"He up there lying his a** off," one fan said.
"he trying so hard not to laugh it is hilarious," another fan said.
"Bro was trying not to laugh," another fan wrote.
Other fans pointed out that Gardner didn't want to kick Jones and the Giants while they were down after the day they had scrimmaging the Jets. More fans pointed out how Gardner was pretty much saying Jones isn't good in the nicest way possible.
"Sauce know he is the wrost QB in the league right now," one person said rather harshly.
"He wanted to talk trash but didn’t.. No need to add on to what the entire world knows," another fan added.
"Bruh wanted to call him trash but he’s trying to find the words to say it nicely lmaoooooo," one fan said.
After becoming viral about his response on Jones, Gardner addressed the video, saying he was distracted by something mid-interview.
Sauce Gardner waved goodbye to the New York Giants after their joint practice

After the New York Jets conlcuded their joint practice with the New York Giants, Sauce Gardner walked onto the center of the field and waved goodbye to the Giants. Surprisingly, no Giants players responded or showed Gardner any attention.
Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers spoke on Gardner's action of waving goodbye to his team, saying they earned the right to do so by winning the day.
The two teams will get the chance to go at it when it (sort of) matters this Saturday in their pre-season finale. The joint practices this week should heat this game up even more, as both teams will look to end their pre-season with a victory.
