Haason Reddick's holdout with the New York Jets is finally over. After missing the first six games of the NFL season, plus tonight's Sunday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Reddick has officially ended his holdout and has agreed to a reworked, short-term deal with the Jets.

The Jets traded a third-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles on April 1, 2024, for Reddick. Upon the time of acquiring Reddick, the Jets did not extend him, and the linebacker held out through the entire summer and start to this season.

After learning that Reddick is back on the team with a reworked deal, some fans weren't pleased with Reddick holding out just to be back with the team. Some fans also think he might sign elsewhere next offseason in free agency.

"This stuff is so annoying. You cried the entire offseason and just decide to stay. Get outta here," one fan said.
"I was really hoping they would cut him. I don’t think this is good enough, allowing somebody to act like a diva and still avoid getting his fines," a fan wrote.
"I love when players try to play the leverage game and fold lol," a fan said.

While some fans weren't pleased with Haason Reddick joining the Jets, others are ecstatic about him joining the team. The Jets acquired wide receiver Davante Adams this past week, and they'll be getting Reddick back the following week.

Some think that the Jets could be better with Reddick and Adams.

Here's how other fans reacted:

"told yall he would pay zero fines and get contract re-worked..........what a week for the jets...there ALL in," a fan said.
"1st Davante joins this week & now Reddick is gonna come back. Jets got the pieces," a fan wrote.
"Holyyy sh*t Jets Super Bowl odds just went up a lot! Hopefully he plays tonight," a fan said.

There's a reason why the New York Jets traded for Haason Reddick. He's a sack machine.

Reddick has recorded four straight seasons of recording at least 10 sacks, setting a career-high two seasons with 16. He's also had 200+ tackles in the last four seasons combined. He's coming off of an 11-sack season a year ago while making his second-straight Pro Bowl.

Reddick is a 2017 first-round pick, that sprouted late in his career as he only had 7.5 sacks in his first three seasons combined.

Jets edge rusher Will McDonald IV is off to a great start this season with seven sacks. Defensive end Michael Clemons is second on the team with 2.5.

The Jets are hoping the return of Haason Reddick can boost their pass-rush defense. He's expected to make his debut next week against the New England Patriots.
