Haason Reddick has been wanting a new contract ever since he was traded to the New York Jets during the offseason. This has led him to hold out, not attending practices until he gets his big-money long-term extension.
But now, there is hope. On Saturday, independently affiliated insider Josina Anderson reported that the two sides had finally seen positive progress, allowing him to end his holdout and begin acclimatizing himself with the team ahead of renewed negotiations:

Haason Reddick's new teammates have had nothing but support for him
How important is Haason Reddick to the Jets? Despite their recent offensive woes under Zach Wilson, they have had one of the more talented defenses in all of football, boasting a litany of All-Pros and Pro Bowlers in every area.
One of them is defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who had this to say about the linebacker:
“He’s a phenomenal football player. When he steps on this field, he changes the whole aura, just because he’s a guy who can put up 15-plus sacks a year, 10-plus sacks a year and different things like that. I’m just blessed to have him on my side.”He also empathized with Reddick's contract situation:
“I was in his position last year. I know how the organization works, how (general manager) Joe Douglas and coach (Robert) Saleh and all those guys work. Knowing him as a great competitor and person who wants to be here, who wants to win championships, I know he’s going to get things ironed out.”
Meanwhile, fellow linebacker CJ Mosley said:
"When you’re dealing with contracts and things like that, it doesn’t really get to the locker room because we don’t control that. When he does get here, we’ll be able to have our two cents to say. We know he’s a pro. He’s been at the highest level of competition."I’m sure whenever that gets worked out, he’ll be here ready to roll. When he gets here, he’ll be another great player to add to our defensive line."
Reddick, who is entering the final year of his current contract, is expected to earn $14.25 million this season.
