Offensive tackle Olu Fashanu saw his NFL dreams come true on Thursday night when he was drafted by the New York Jets with the 10th overall pick. Fashanu, who chose to have his draft experience at home, was surrounded by his family and friends when his phone rang.
However, amongst the excitement and celebration, there is one moment that has gone viral. The former Penn State standout's mother, Paige, was seated to his left and when everyone began to celebrate, she blocked a young lady, who many took to be the offensive tackle's girlfriend, from trying to celebrate with him.
In an attempt to get his attention, she was blocked by Olu Fashanu's mother. The exchange continued when everyone stood up after his name was called. The clip from the moment went viral as NFL fans were in hysterics over the moment. Some fans referred to her as a pass blocker and others said that she had over own offensive line skills.

New York Jets fans who have been begging and pleading for the team to add offensive line pieces for years, were ecstatic that Olu Fashanu will now protect Aaron Rodgers. Most are now expecting even more after realizing he got his protection skills from his mom.
"The blonde trying to get his attention. Yeesh," one user stated.
"He's gonna be GREAT. Watch his mom hold that block," another said.
"His mother was definitely in pass pro against the girlfriend. If he's half as good as her, we're set for the next decade," one fan declared.
The clip was seen during the live broadcast and then shared on the New York Jets' social media. She made a few attempts at trying to embrace the offensive tackle but, to no avail, as his parents received all of his attention. Realistically, it was an exciting night, one that Olu Fashanu and his family dreamed of, so it is probably best not to look into it too closely.
"His mom is the moment," one fan shared.
"That girlfriend couldn’t get in there for anything," another said.
"Awwww girlfriend wanted to make eye contact and be acknowledged sooo bad. Get used to it honey," one fan said.
Aaron Rodgers didn't appear thrilled with Jets drafting Olu Fashanu
During his time in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers made it clear that he wasn't thrilled with some of their draft choices. Even as a member of the New York Jets now, that sentiment apparently hasn't changed.
Rodgers made an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" draft special on Thursday night. When asked about the pick he went on to mention the returning members of the offensive line, insinuating the team didn't need Olu Fashanu.
He also stated that he felt there were other needs the Jets needed to address instead. That said, the quarterback did give credit to general manager Joe Douglas for picking up draft capital:
"We already made three moves in the offseason bringing in John Simpson to play guard and Morgan [Moses] to play tackle and Tyron Smith to play tackle as well. So it wasn't necessarily top of the needs. But I know they really loved Olu and I love what Joe did moving back and getting a couple more picks."
One would believe that the 40-year-old who is working his way back from an Achilles injury would be more excited about having extra support on the offensive line. However, that wasn't the case, so it will be interesting to see what the Jets do on night two.
