The 2024 version of the New York Jets is one of the biggest disappointments of the NFL, but also of the franchise's history. In a year with much promise, fueled by the return of superstar veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, they have a 3-9 record and many key figures of the organization were fired.
Head coach Robert Saleh lost his job after the first five weeks. General manager Joe Douglas did not survive another loss in Week 11. The speculation has shifted to Aaron Rodgers: plenty of analysts believe that the quarterback is not going to stay with the franchise in 2025, but rumors before Week 12 said he could be shut down in 2024 already.
However, on Monday, with the team returning from its bye week, this possibility was shut down by interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich. Even if this season is far from what New York expected, it looks like we'll see Aaron Rodgers until Week 18:

It's difficult to say that the veteran quarterback is having a bad season. He has 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions and is completing 63.4% of his throws. However, the expectations were extremely high, and his own standards were much higher, hence the Jets' disappointment with the quarterback.
When was the last time the Jets made the playoffs?
It was in 2010 when the NFL and the world were totally different. That year, they qualified as a wild card in the AFC and reached the AFC Championship Game with two massive upsets away from home.
In the wild card, they defeated Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts with a last-second field goal. But the biggest of the surprises happened one week later when they went to Foxborough and knocked down the New England Patriots, the first seed in the conference, who had a bye in the wild card.
They finally lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the conference championship. Since that year, the Jets had only one season with a positive record. It was in 2015 when Ryan Fitzpatrick surprisingly led them to a 10-6 record, but they still missed the playoffs due to tiebreakers in the conference.
