Jets were 'unable to convert' Aaron Rodgers into a 'team player', claims NFL agent [IMAGN]

According to reports, the New York Jets may have an Aaron Rodgers problem. In a survey conducted by The Athletic, 31 NFL agents and representatives from around the league were questioned. The report back on the team was that there are serious problems and that some of them can be traced directly back to Rodgers.

A source said, via The Athletic:

"There is complete disarray over there. Look at how they’ve handled Aaron Rodgers. Has one player had more power than him? He skipped minicamp. They have been unable to convert him into a team player. The vibe inside the building is terrible.”

Rodgers has had a lot of power over the team since arriving, and that included a ton of his former teammates ending up on the roster last offseason. This year, he hasn't shown up to the minicamp, leading to a bad atmosphere in the locker room.

The Jets put all their eggs in the Rodgers basket. They traded a lot for him and gave up on former second-overall pick Zach Wilson as a result. When he went down last year, things went awry. They've gone all in on fixing the offense since, but it's still contingent on Rodgers.

His health, age and quality of play, which hasn't been seen virtually in over a full season, will determine what the Jets can do. They've had the defense to make a big impact, and they wanted Rodgers to make the offense up to the mark also.

Anonymous coach rips into Aaron Rodgers

Insider sources aren't the only ones who have something to say about Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. An anonymous NFL head coach ripped into the quarterback, claiming that he won't be the same even with full health.

Via Sports Illustrated, the unnamed coach said:

“You go back and watch those first four plays before he got hurt, he did not look good. He looks old. If they can’t protect him and they can’t run the football, it’ll be just what you saw late stages in Green Bay. He became ineffective. I’m looking at what he is, not who he is.”

The Rodgers that last played in Green Bay was not the four-time MVP, and with more age and a serious injury under his belt, at least one coach has little confidence in the player today.
