Going into Week 6, Aidan O'Connell has been named the starting QB for the Las Vegas Raiders as they prepare to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Raiders have been making headlines lately. First, Antonio Pierce commented that some players made 'business decisions' after losing to the Carolina Panthers. Then, reports surfaced that star receiver Davante Adams was seeking a trade from the team.

And now, their starting QB, Gardner Minshew, has been benched in favor of O'Connell. The Raiders are 2-3 and need a quarterback capable of taking on the Steelers defense led by TJ Watt.

However, not many fans were happy with this development. They felt that the Raiders needed more than just a quarterback change to have a chance of making it to the playoffs this season.

"Garappolo was better than all they have," a fan said.

Another fan said that Minshew and O'Connell weren't good QBs, so it didn't matter who started.

"Trash v trash. There’s no difference in who starts."

Other fans remarked that the new QB will not be able to help the Raiders offense much.

"Their offense is cooked," one fan said.
"INT first drive," another fan wrote.

Some other fans said that the Raiders were failing as a team for switching through QBs while failing to retain the good offensive weapons they already possess.

"Clown show organization," one fan said.
"This was not the Raiders news I was hoping for," another fan said.

Antonio Pierce expresses his confidence in Aidan O'Connell

While announcing the change in the starting QB, coach Antonio Pierce told reporters that it was his decision to start O'Connell and not necessarily what the locker room felt.

“It wasn’t a team decision. It was my decision. I just felt it’s what’s best for our offense going forward,” Pierce said.

O'Connell had taken to the gridiron during the Raiders' loss to divisional rivals, the Denver Broncos, led by rookie QB Bo Nix, but the damage had been done by then.
